‘The Nation’ article
Thanks to tireless efforts, well positioned friends and support for my trip from a fellow blogger and friend Shirazi there was an article published about my trip in the Pakistani English daily ‘The Nation’ on October 15th. The scans aren’t the best but should suffice to be able to read it. Just click on it and go to the large version in Flickr (You need to be signed in and select the ‘All sizes’ option in order to view the larger version scans): Left page, right page…
Enjoy it guys and thanks again Shirazi. BTW, congrats to myself, this was my 200th post at this blog;) And guys, please, get either Opera or Firefox browsers for viewing. I’m tired to keep re-checking Internet Explorer’s screwed up formatting.

Hi Rich,
Took a quick look at today’s posting. Great work! !
I’m still hoping you respond to this comment, as we have no other way to contact you. I’m trying to help a fellow biker, Chris, to solve his photo saving/uploading problems. He mentioned you suggested a Nexto with Hitachi HD.
Please respond to tbyrne4@gmail.com or donnar4@gmail.com
Continued best wishes for a safe journey.

that is pretty awesome Richard! You are like a little traveling celebrity. Pretty sweet! I hope you are doing well and still enjoying yourself. I am sure you read it, but your man Lance survived the ING marathon last weekend. So that is good. Apparently he didn’t enjoy the running as much. lol. Go figure.
Anyway, stay safe and I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks Kristen,
Yep, I heard about Lance’s marathon. It actually inspired me to signed up for the next year’s NYC marathon when I get back home. Have no idea though what kind of requirements I need to fulfill in order to qualify;. I lost so much weight that it is now fun to run… With little luck I might even beat his time;)))
OTOH, I’m still in KTM enjoying great food and its sights. Have a few posts almost ready and will add them to my blog in a few days;) I also had to cancel my Annapurna trek due to crazy new TRC regulations requiring me to take a porter and/or a guide which isn’t what I want, especially for such a easy teahouse trek as Annapurna. So, I’ll stay a few extra days in KTM lazying around before cycling slowly to Varanasi in India where I’m planning to finish my journey. From there on just a train ride to Delhi, leave my stuff there and jump on another train to Diu (or a plane to Goa) to relax at a beach before heading back home into chaos of NYC;)
Have fun back home, enjoy the Thanksgiving holidays and say hi from me to everyone at Pops;)

Even I came to know about your exploits and your blog through a post on Mr. Shirazi’s blog.
So, here’s to thank him once again!
